How is Traditional Kundalini Yoga different?
Kundalini yoga is very effective as it blends dynamic movement, asana, breath work, mantra, mudra and bandha to activate the enlivening life force.
We integrate fast moving postures with deep meditative practices and visualisation to balance the energy of ascension with downward moving energy.

WHAT IS TRADITIONAL KUNDALINI YOGA?
Traditional Kundalini Yoga originates from the Himalayan Mountains, where the Yogis and Sages practiced yoga and meditation techniques in a systematic approach. The tradition has no name, and is not affiliated with any institutions or religions. It was passed on from teachers to disciples since the Vedic period.
Traditional Kundalini Yoga combines the practice of the Tantras, the wisdom of Patanjali's Yoga Sutras and the specific instructions passed by a long lane of yoga masters. Practices has been mentioned in scriptures like Yoga Kundalini Upanishad and Hatha Yoga Pradipika and some of them come from Shaiva Tantra and Vijnana Bhairava Tantra. Tradition has been represented by teachers such as Swami Rama, Paramahansa Yogananda, Swami Sri Yukteswar and Mahavatar Babaji.
The ancient Yogis discovered that the secret for higher consciousness is intimately linked with breath mastery.
Yogis learned to accurately channel the energy as an instrument for awakening. They experienced liberation from the conditioned mind by redirecting the inner energies. This helps the mind to stabilise in meditative state, and the karmic bondage starts to release. This leads to maturing in higher levels of consciousness.

I'm a lead Yoga Teacher Trainer (E-RYT500), Kundalini Yoga Teacher (Himalayan tradition certified) and Somatic Movement Educator (MA).
For a decade, I've been elevating thousands of students to find connections to the subtle bodies as a compass for higher forms of transformation.
My yearning for Self-realisation led me to spend years seeking the Truth inside. I immersed myself in silence and solitude, seeking guidance from Mystics, Yogis and masters of Non-Duality.
Kundalini Yoga opened the doors to places that other yogic practices never did. Kundalini awakening felt like a profound homecoming. I started perceiving the subtleties of the reality from a deep state of silence.

WHAT IS KUNDALINI AND HOW TO ACTIVATE IT?
Kundalini is a powerful energy in the base of the spine and for most of us its power lies dormant. It represents the unmanifested potential within us and once its activated, the Shakti force flows upwards through the spine. This creates powerful energy force that helps us to go beyond the limitations of the mind. It shows us the realities we used to be blindfolded from.
Activating Kundalini is like charging your lifeless batteries to restore their function.
Most of our bodies are holding subconscious tension due to lived life and often unavoided difficult experiences. If we don't do anything to this tension, it keeps re-creating the difficult patterns and shadows our behaviour. Tension becomes stagnant and when things are stiff, the temperature drops. Kundalini Yoga helps to create heat with specific techniques to warm up the tension.
Heat always makes matter to change its form and creates movement. Movement creates space, and space itself is the foundation for the Kundalini activation.
Kundalini should be awakened with right care, guidance and continuity. Proper preparation in essential to make the nervous system a solid container for the heightened voltage of energy. Kundalini Yoga helps to not only to build fire, but develop sensitivity to prana and cultivate mental clarity. It uses postures, pranayama, mantras and meditation to safely prepare the body for the internal evolution.
Kundalini is our body's natural resource that can be used for elevation of consciousness. This helps us to rise above the personal difficulties and live more meaningful life connected to our liberated nature.
